Castelvania film cancelled?

According to this, the Castlevania film is not going to move ahead. I am not personally a fan of the Castlevania games, but what I read about the film didn't sound exactly like a faithfull take on the mythos. Sounded like your average generic vampire action movie. So, I don't know if anyone will cry over this.

Shadow of the Colossus, Spyro,

Shadow of the Colossus, a beautiful, beloved cult game about finding awe inspiring, rare miracles of nature, and finding ways to kill them, is getting the film treatment. Written by Justin Marks, of Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun Li. A year ago, he had some goodwill. Now, he has to prove he doesn't suck.


Also Spyro the Dragon is supposedly coming to 3d theaterdom this year. Not a lot is known, but if true, I commend them for finally discovering that cg and games adaptations are not only possible, but a good Idea. From the producer of Eragon. Yeah, that's a name you like to put on posters if your movie is about dragons...

The start of a new era!

Games and film have not had good relations over the years, as my good friend Batzarro is quick to point out in his own Blog. In fact, the suggestion of one even happening sends shivers down many a spine. Still, I dedicate this blog to the search for a good VG adaptation. It's not like we haven't had decent ones. But still, I will remain an optimist and hope for the best. Reviews, previews, what have you. I'll do it.
